Very strange sword!!!!

I was reading Xyx spell reference where are listed the protections of different weapons, when a sword cought my eye: it gives protections to almost all the magic effects.
So I took note of its code (killsw01)and I cluaconsoled in one of my game to see which sword it was.
It came out to be a Long sword +2 "Varscona" and the only note in its description is +1 cold damage (all in all a not very exciting item).
I equipped it on one of my char. and .... surprise!!!!

AC jumped to -49
Thac0 to -19
Magic resistance 100% !!!
improved haste when equipped!!!!

What sword is that? Is it a bugged item? Where can you find it (the description of the sword is such that when found you will sell it right away without paying attention)?

Anyway this is the most powerfull item available in the game, totally unbalancing.

Most likely one of those items put in the game for testing purposes (when the designers aren't interested in long, drawn-out fights) - there seems to be one in every BI game.

it was originally meant to be arkanis gaths sword if you chose to work for shadow thieves but started killing them instead...check back to really old forum archives like the first few months, and you will see it...it is a cntrl y sword.....

man i had fun running thru nalia's keep with that blade....can be used by any class including sorc...

If you go to work for the Shadow Thieves, but you then try to kill Aran Linvail, an assassin will appear and use that weapon to kill the main character. It's a mechanism to "encourage" you not to kill Linvail.

Theres another strange sword, I don't remember the code but if you see it in Shadowkeeper you will find two itens with descriptions Bastard Sword (and similar images). One is the regular Bastard Sword, the other is a sword that PERMANENTLY (even if you un-equip the thing) adds several effects such as spell turning, haste, fire shield, etc.

i wondered what that was all about, is it possible to kill him?ctrl+y doesn't work, and he just kills you in one hit, i tried killing aran linvail once, just because from his appearance he had elven chain on, and i had nalia in my party(don't know why)

yes, a mage fighter multi with shapechange spell and g whirlwinds is best...shapechange to mind flayer, and g whirlwind and int drain to death is about the only way to kill him...
