 Take care! Installing PoR on my machine caused major disk corruption when the installation failed. It is a known bug, and there is a patch you need to run before installation, if you have an offending copy of PoR. This patch will then run in the background behind the installer and prevent the installation from crashing and corrupting. This caused me the biggest nightmare last Christmas  Hope that helps. :)

Six months later....and I STILL can't get the thing to run   I need a new graphics card. Ok, so maybe that ain't my problem with this game, but it's a good excuse :D

A clicking sound is indicitive of physical HDD failure. If the noise is persistant, back up all of your data immediately and replace the drive. You might also run Scandisk and see to see if there are any bad sectors, and there are also a couple of diagnostic utilities which you can download off the internet that examine the device for physical failure.

As tech guru Yshania says, there are several known issues related to POR2 and its installation so you should with Ubisoft to see if you are experiencing a known problem (for which there may or may not be a solution), but you should also consider that you may need to replace your HDD.

Hey, after I had recovered my hard drive from corruption...and used the installation patch to load it...I ran the game no problem. Yet your card is technically a higher spec than mine :p Hmmm...

::waves hand hypnotically in front of Bloodstalker::

You need to buy an nVidia GeForce 4 Ti video card. All of your display issues will be resolved.

: :p ockets check from nVidia::

And while you're at it, buy an MSI motherboard.

Funnily enough I was looking at some MSI mobo's the other day, I came very close to purchasing one...I fought the dark side though ;)

You should have gotten the board, Mr Sleep. Mine is rock-solid stable and is very conducive to over-clocking.
