  • You can't reach your elbow with your tongue
  • You can't break a rib while pressing your legs to your chest
  • A pig can never see the sky
  • 25% of the population of the earth has never used a telephone
  • A hedgehog can live 6 hours without its head :( :(
  • A person exhales so much poisonous gasses in 7 years that you can die from suffocation in a closed room
  • The sounds that a duck makes do not make an echo
  • 11% of copying machines which are out of order, have been damaged by people sitting on them so that they can copy parts of their body
  • An average person accidentally swallows 70 insects in the course of his/her life
  • Cat urine glows when illuminated by ultraviolet rays
  • Tongue-prints are as individual as fingerprints.

Disclamer: I have not tried or tested any of the above (except the bit with the tongue and elbow :D ) and cannot be held responsible if they are not true. Thank you.

I see, and how many is that? You and ...? :D

Perhaps the number decreases to 80% when you're only asking people who know they are being watched. ;)

A pig can never see the sky

False...

A person exhales so much poisonous gasses in 7 years that you can die from suffocation in a closed room

How big is 'a closed room'?

The sounds that a duck makes do not make an echo

I don't belive you.

An average person accidentally swallows 70 insects in the course of his/her life

Who found this out?

I realise that it is all in good fun, but the number of people who believe these statistics is remarkably high (about 87% I reckon) - Believing this stuff without questioning it does not lead to a healthy frame of mind. So sayeth Frogus.

I knew I would have to deal with a sceptic... So here it goes defending my writings. :D

A pig can never see the sky
False...
-How do you know? :p Its neck is so thick it can't move its head upward and therefore it cannot see the sky.

A person exhales so much poisonous gasses in 7 years that you can die from suffocation in a closed room
How big is 'a closed room'?
-Relatively small, I guess :)

The sounds that a duck makes do not make an echo
I don't belive you.
But you should :p . On a serous note - I found it was an urban legend after some research and was really dissapointed :( .

An average person accidentally swallows 70 insects in the course of his/her life
Who found this out?
Why does it matter? Who found that you can't touch your elbow with your tongue? :)

*grabs pig, points it towards sky*

Happy?

@Vicsun, I don't want to argue about something so silly, but just think about swallowing bugs for a second - How many have you swallowed? I do not believe that you could find anyone in the world who knows with any degree of accuracy whatsoever how many bugs they have swallowed. So you are going to have to find out the number of bugs swallowed by some sort of outside examination - What kind of examination can determine not only what you have swallowed recently, but what you have swallowed in your entire life? None, unless insects which you swallow stay in your appendix or something, inside your body. So we shall assume that they do - Is there any sort of scan which can determine somethings structure inside a body to tell wether it is an insect or not? I believe not... So one would have to dissect a person and minutely examine the contents of their innards to count the insects. Has this sort of experiment ever been performed to such a scale that the findings would be of any significance at all? Well you can decide that for yourself, as I do not know...

@froggy person,

C'mon. You should know all about swallowing insects! :D

semi-seriously: It doesn't need to be that accurate. All you need is to take several people and ask them to take notes whenever they accidently swallow an insect in an year. Then you can do the math. :)

It doesn't make so little sence for someone who is twenty to have swallowed 20 insects in his life by accident.

OK, enough arguing over something that stupid ;) . RL needs me again. cya around

  • Only after the murer on JFK in 1963 the american goverment created a law that states that it's illigal to kill, kidnap or attack the president of the united states
  • At a yearly basis 17 americans die fromusing a hairdryer
  • You need about two spoons of blood to get a penis erected
  • You can't sneeze with you're eyes open
  • Bulgaria was the first soccer team that in the worldchampionship of 1994 had the names off all 11 player ending on the letters OV
  • The aztec emperor Montezuma had a cousin that was called Cuitlahac, what meens "lot's of ****"
  • Albert Einstein was offered presidentship of Israel in 1952
  • In 1848 Niagra falls stopped for 30hours cause an iceberg stopped the flow.
  • Coca-cola was originally green
  • A day on Venus last longer then a year. The planet has a rotation time around here own as of 243 earth days, and a rotation around the sun of 224 days.
  • The density of planet Saturn is smaller then water, that would mean that i you would drop Saturn in a giant lake, it would float.
  • The international number to call to antartica is 672
  • The lenght of a wing of a boing747 is longer then the first flight of the Wright brothers

  • Only after the murer on JFK in 1963 the american goverment created a law that states that it's illigal to kill, kidnap or attack the president of the united states
I guess that the president isn't considered a person and a special law is needed to state that's illigal to kill him :p
  • At a yearly basis 17 americans die fromusing a hairdryer
 I'm not sure I want to know how that can happen
  • You need about two spoons of blood to get a penis erected
Hmm... useful information. Will help me in my plan for wolrd domination *takes note*
  • You can't sneeze with you're eyes open
I'll have to try this one out sometime :D
  • Bulgaria was the first soccer team that in the worldchampionship of 1994 had the names off all 11 player ending on the letters OV
And finished 4th in the world I might add
  • The aztec emperor Montezuma had a cousin that was called Cuitlahac, what meens "lot's of ****"
Poor guy :( . I feel for him. I do.
  • Albert Einstein was offered presidentship of Israel in 1952
    And he didn't accpet? :(
  • In 1848 Niagra falls stopped for 30hours cause an iceberg stopped the flow.
    Must've been pretty cold... *shivers*
  • Coca-cola was originally green
...and it's original owner sold the rights to it to some other guy for 300$ (or something similar)
  • A day on Venus last longer then a year. The planet has a rotation time around here own as of 243 earth days, and a rotation around the sun of 224 days.
Is Venus unique in that aspect? *makes note to check*
  • The density of planet Saturn is smaller then water, that would mean that i you would drop Saturn in a giant lake, it would float.
More useful information for my plan of world domination. If I somehow make Saturn crash into earth, it won't sink into the Pacific causing floods :D .
  • The international number to call to antartica is 672
A very interestin fact indeed ;)
  • The lenght of a wing of a boing747 is longer then the first flight of the Wright brothers
I think I've heard that one before..
  • Microsoft Windows is the only opperating system that you shut down by clicking on "start"
LOL. True...

It would cause floods though as it would push away all the water of teh pacific onto land and then....

BTW saturn would knock all of earth into the sun iff they collided IIRC. It would disrupt earths centripital force and send it towards teh sun at a rate that your garnd children could be fried or something like that

When i say giant lake, i mean GIANT lake!!!!
Didn't say ocean, and didn't say the lake should be on earth.
