I happen to love him, having heard the speach he delivered on Tues of this week, I love him more. He is the only world leader to come out and say what the world is thinking.
America is the sole remaining super power
Europe is economically strong, but divided
China and India are rising powers, South America is coming together, Africa is in grave peril, and the middle east is in turmoil
(I paraphrase.)
He goes on to speak on the shared morals of the western world, and how we are united by a sense of justice. That it is easy to be anti american, and yet they are also are greatest ally.
There are two ways for us to go into this new era he says, as friends or as rivals.
In your opinions, what points does this speach bring up, and how does Mr. Blair pane out against other world leaders, and why the sudden shift in labour party policy.
Thoughts, comments please no spam.
1000th post. I think this is a good way to do it.
Tony Blair. Love him, hate him.

The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

I personally respect Tony Blair a lot. I think he's a very good speaker and he seems to know what he's talking about (unlike mr. shrub)
I'm really not sure if the U.S. is a true superpower, the world is becoming more interdependant and even though the U.S. is trying to control the planet it seems like the countries are slipping through their fingers. I do not agree with U.S. policy and in fact many would consider me unamerican. I try and make it a point not to do all this fake patriotism that seems to be going around. I've stuck to the same principles before and after 9/11 and I think I've done a good job not letting any events make my veiws biased. You might say that I'm following one of those anti-trends by not being patriotic and really I'm a hypocrit, well maybe people see me like that, but I can only stand up for what I think.

no matter how hard you try you can't stop us now
Blair is a good performer, and can be seen as a world leader, as he knows what's-going-ons outside of UK. However, he is awfully out of touch when it comes to UK itself. Blair surrounds himself by "Tony's friends", and that makes matters worse. The troublesome Railtrack and Stephen Byers was the typical example of that. And, when you look at past few years of Labour "cash for a seat in the House of Lords" and "cash for big contract", you should notice they are all surrounding Tony Blair himself, rather than Labour party ministers. Unlike past Tory sleaze, which involved so many different cabinet ministers, Blair seems to be the only one who's name comes up with money in this government.
He's a good laugh, though... I'm a satirist.

I agree with Minerva, if anyone keeps an eye on what happens in Britain then you would notice that this country is going to hell while Blair swans off to Europe to impress the world...(slight exaggeration

I put a great deal of my thoughts on Blair down before, I will attempt to find them.

I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.
