Captain Mariner and other prologue quests (spoilers)

Post by HighLordDave »

In the prologue, there is a soldier in Targos who is dying and wants you to deliver a love letter to his girlfriend in Neverwinter through one Captain Mariner. Where is the captain? I thought I checked every soldier at the palisade, but I didn't see him. Or is Mariner a character I'm going to meet later in the game.

Thanks in advance.

Later in the game. Chapter 2, I think.

End of chapter 2. But you might consider discussing the letter with the only healthy figures in the room.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Aha. Thanks, guys.

Another question (not from the prologue, but Chapter 1):
What happens if the ogres destroy the bridge? Do you get an additional quest to rebuild it? Or are you screwed if they demolish the bridge? I had to reload five times to stop them without some member of my party dying.

It's just a case of how much experience you get, nothing more.

Bridge saved, no supports destroyed = big exp reward
One support destroyed = smaller exp reward
bridge destroyed = smallest exp reward
