I used the mod with my henchmen. It's very good, and the mod for improving henchman AI by the same developer is also good.
The problem with giving henchmen equipment is that they lose all the equipment you give them when they level (i.e. you level) or when you complete a chapter. This is the fault of the way Bioware designed henchmen. In the mod you have to take the equipment away from the henchman just before you level up or complete a chapter. I found this very annoying, but it is the best that the mod designer could do with the poor Bioware implementation.
Also annoying is that the henchmen do not always equip the items you give them, so you have to repeatedly take back and re-give the items until the henchman gets it right. I noticed this with Linu; there may not be a problem with other henchmen.
The final problem is that you have to uninstall and reinstall the mods every time Bioware release a patch for NWN. This wasn't a problem until very recently when Bioware swung into rapid-patch mode. This is quite a tedious process because there are 500+ files you have to backup, delete and move.
I gave up on henchmen altogether. However, if I were to use one again in the future I would not bother with the inventory mod because I do not have the patience to employ all the workarounds. Still, that's just me. It does work very well considering the design issues with henchmen and many people love it. Give it a try - but read the instructions carefully. And try the battle AI mod because that one works really well.

holy or unholy, only have one homie, only this gun, lonely cuz don't anyone know me
Yet everybody just feels like they can relate, I guess words are a motha****a they can be great

I have found these henchmen scripts very useful. I give Tomi a better melee weapon and more healing potions and magic items. Both of us having rings of light is a great help.
The coolesst thing about Tomi, aside from his really convenient open/disarm and bow skills, is that, by dressing identically, we're running around saving Neverwinter looking like Dr. Evil and Mini-me.
