You can buy various items of steel & silver armour at almost any blacksmith's. However it is not great.

Further to previous posts, you can kill a Dunmer in the Daedric Shrine just north of Ald Velothi and he will cough up a near complete set of ebony armour (no helm or shield) and a Daedric battleaxe! You can get an ebony helm from the Sarano tomb (one of the figher's guild quests in Balmora).

I can't tell you where to get a shield, I acquired mine in a random fight with a golden saint.

Hope this helps.

I can tell you where to find a real good piece of heavy armor.

*spoiler*
Go to Ebonhart. If you go to the water near Ebonhart there should be a cavern entrance under water, near the castle of Ebonhart (The entrance is near the northwest side of the castle, if I remember correctly. Go inside-kill a few rats-you will eventually find some heavily armored warrior that attacks you. The armor he is wearing is called the Lord's Mail. Its a pretty good piece of armor ;)

*spoiler over*

If you dont want to read my spoiler and want good armor like ebony-try searching many caverns throughout Vvardenfell-there are quite a few places you could go to that has people with Ebony armor. Cavern of Milk On a road east of Gnaar Mok and west of Ald-ruhn. There are a couple of caverns on the island that has Ald Redanya that have ebony within them. Happy searching

or just taunt the secret master of heavy armor, in arena after you get what you want, and butcher him under chameo or spells, and he has a complet set of ebony minus helm....

actually best armor in game is mix of heavy and med...

ebony plate...with high med skill, its far better than dragonbone...constatn effect 50 point dragon skin!!!!

helm of tohan or bearclaw...both great, tohan you can enchant with restore health....bear claw is great for cheese, wear before resting after level up, get extra hp, i think...not sure...

daedric greaves from theanna for auriel bows quest, whack her later if you still want bow, but the greaves have mondo feather spell, no weight!!!

boots...bound boots are best, since you get extra speed boost...

pauldrons,,,any will really dom beat up on lord fyr after quest for a full set of daedric....

gloves...wraithguard is so good, but for the left hand, its tough...the gloves you get in ibuni is nice, but so is aryons dominator and zentars helper...really tough choice, but aryons dominator winds...the agility bonus with ibuni left glove is ok, but bearclaw is got better bonus, and zentars helper and aryons helper both do pretty much the same thing, but aryons has got better charge numbers....

yes, i am a stinking looter...

umbra is best sword, imho...

has no magical strike spells, like ice blade, but with my avatars high str it always does way mroe damage than any otehr weapon, including sunder and keening...
its suppose to completely bypass any weapons resistances a foe has...

really does the job, but i dont like th purple tones...

supposivly the glass is compressed lava making it very strong.

gold is an extremly soft and heavy metal and would make extremely poor weapons and armor.

If anyone ever challenges you to a duel in the arena-it does not break the laws so no guard will ever interfere. You can dismantle your opponent in any way you dicide is good-as long as you dont hit the spectators.

So you found the Lords Mail? My directions were OK?

The reason he died so fast was simply because he was an inept warrior.

How do you duel with people-If there is ever an option in a dialogue box saying "duel" the person will either explain what a duel is, or he will challenge you to a duel-so that is a word to look for.

I got the ebony but was it worth it i killed 2 guards some wepons seller (sold all junk) and the dude with eboney. In the end it coast me 2020 gold1000 to rejoin the thief guild (killd a member once) and 1020 to clear my name i could not get the guy to duel with me so i had to do it the hard way (the fun way) Should i load up a game and get just him to dule with me or just play from here.

Pretty much anything that deals with a duel is quest related. You cant just randomly go up to people and challenge them to a duel. However you CAN taunt them. As far as reloading-as long as no message came up saying that you ruined the plot-it all depends on what kind of character you are playing. I would reload, but if you are a truly evil character-keep it.

I don't use heavy armor but I find it all the time.

Just explore some daedric ruins - no end of good stuff to be found in them. One tip is to keep an eye out for high ledges in daedric ruins (any ruins in fact) because there are often good items stashed away out of reach (use levitation).
