Changing portrait and avatar?
Changing portrait and avatar?
Isn't it possible to change the portrait and avatar after you've started the game? I can't find where to do it...

No, no, that's not what I'm asking for. I'm asking for how to change the portrait and the avatar after having started a game.

C'mon you guys, I'm sure this is an easy question... Is any of you able to change the portrait for your PC to another than the one chosen upon creation? Are you able to modify your appearance at all?

I haven't seen a way to yet. I would be interested to know, however.
Lost Souls: A bereft lover. A masterless familiar. Friends gone their separate ways. Time marches on, and destiny heralds the meeting of comrades old and new. Can they find what they're seeking? Or will the search bring them only more pain?
Yeah, I want to do this too - I picked a crappy Dwarf portrait, and then a dude in the Trade Of Blades had a great one (not Grimgnaw
) I want it!

in bg2, you can change a portrait after startup by....
going into the portraits directory, and writing down teh exact name of the file used in your CUSTOM portrait, then taking the new portrait and renaming it using explorer into the exact name of the one you are using, then replacing the one in the portrait directory with the new one...
no, you are not sol if you used a stock, but i can not fully guide you, just tell you how to do it in bg2....
if you want to change a stock portait you have unwisely chosen, cause I think they all look yucky, you looke up the properties of the stock portrait using infinity explorer, to get the name of the file that is part of the cab files in the installation,, then you renamed the new portrait with the exact file name, then place in the ovverride directory and the game will think the new file is teh correct portrait....
so if you have used a downloaded custom portrait file, you can easily do it, but ovverriding a stock is much harder, and i dont have nwn yet...
