Hi there.
I was wondering, what's the difference between the original Ascension v1.4 Mod and WeiDU4? I'm asking because after having some computer problems I'm going to reinstall the whole game and this is the first time I noticed that the first one's size is 3,672 KB and WeiDU's 969 KB.
Any ideas/ info?

The main reason why the version released by David Gaider is 3.6 Mb and the WeiDU version is only about 1 Mb, is because the original version contains the dialogue.tlk file - which contains all of the text references in the game. While the WeiDU version only contains texts that are not already in the game, which is then added to the dialogue.tlk file when you install it.
