My Sigs

Post by Morlock »

I wanted to know your opinion on my sig.
I change it every few days, except for the stationary 'Veni, Vidi, Vici'.

My personal opinion is that I like seeing new stuff and interesting/amusing quotes, and that my 'Veni...' is one of my identifying marks.

I like your sig. Always something amusing to read :)
If I asked, would you answer? Its your problem. Its a deep, deep problem. I have no way to ask about that... I have no elegant way of stepping into your heart without tracking in filth. So I will wait. Someday, when you want to tell me, tell me then. -Bleach

For the most part, I tend to ignore most quotes. It's nothing personal, it's just I enjoy reading peoples post's more.

@Morlock, I actually quite like the last quote on your list, sounds like something Oscar Wilde would have said :D

Thanx, although you might wanna clarify exactly which one it is, because, as I change them every few days, next week your post won't make any sence. ;)

Has anyone else noticed how formulaic and unimaginative old Oscar's quotes are? It's very simple...all you need to do is say something (any subject, preferably with a vague meter to it), and then say the exact opposite afterwards. And there you have it, a Wilde quote!

For example:

Thinking of intelligent things to post is difficult, however, what is truly difficult is not thinking of intelligent things to post.

Nice, eh?

Sorry to bump this again, but otherwise it can't be replied to.

BTW, on my current quotes, I actuly heard an audio clip of Frank Zappa saying that, and it's even more hillarious that way.

Nope, it works. "Shallowness is the only refuge of the serious." I believe we were discussing this the other day, with reference to the debating tactics of certain groups of society, some of whom are present here at GB and so shall be nameless so as to avoid offending him...erm, them? ;) :D

Bah, the difference being that the Wilde quote is clever, whereas Frogus' example is not. ;) :p Besides, I wasn't trying to prove it, just poking fun at Frogus.

"A little sincerity is a dangerous thing, and a great deal of it is absolutely fatal."

"Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught."

"A dreamer is someone who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world."

"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars."

Didn't you? There's a big conspiracy in this somewhere... ;) Not particularly ambitious today, are we dear?

No, but the two of us are. :p You deserve a taste of your own medicine for a change.

Being a dreamer myself and all it has just the right bittersweet tone to it.
