a wee bit about NPC's

Post by Rattman »

i heard they that you will have less controll than in BG2 doe sthis mean they will wander about dancing in to monsters?

i just hope the little bastards do as they are told!
Ancient times they had no statistics so they had to fall back on lies

"I'm invinceable"
"your a loony"

I'd rather be rich than stupid.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

You can hire henchmen, but you can't controle hem like in BG.
NWN is more back to basic with just one controlable character. So no group adventuring... just you. :D

according to the information given - the henchmen are (or could be) scripted with their own personalities that should make them work more like other players.
So give them an order and hope they follow it :D

It's kind of like in Half-Life, where they can be given abstract orders but generally act of their own accord. The advantage is that if they screw up you need not blame yourself anymore. ;)

Hmmm so NwN will look a lot like BG:dark alliance?
Bugger, I like the BGII engine.
But it's nice the NPC's will be more realistic.

@ /-\lastor, Be glad it doesn't look like BG. This way it's more "personally". :)

Check out the screenshots at http://nwn.bioware.com.
It's a very nice site.

If only!

Not going to happen, I fear, judging from the screenshots. NWN's system requirements were kept a bit lower on purpose, and it shows.

NWN will have a more varied tileset and creature selection, fortunately (which is where some of the system resources are needed).

No party NPCs with their own characters, unfortunately. :(
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Well, thats where the great multiplayer abilities come into use.

If NWN doesn't turn into a UO player killing fest. I will be a very happy man. ;)
