Scrolls of Icarian Flight <no spoilers please>

Are these scrolls supposed to be a joke or do they serve some purpose further down the road.? I thought Acrobatics was supposed to prevent you from taking damage from falls, but every time I use the scroll I plummet to my death.
LMAO when "whats-his-name" first fell out of the sky.

All you need is a 1pt. slowfall effect to get some great use out of them
