"profound language" - !? LOL! I think you mean profane language. "Profound" means thoughtful or meaningful.

Hmmmm ... maybe you're right! Any meaningful discussion will result in your banning!! :p

Seriously, though: yes, profanity will get you banned. But there are other things. Did you read the forum rules? Don't insult anyone, don't make racist statements, don't create multiple aliases ...

It depends on the situation. People are quite often banned for posting Adverts all the time for competitions, then there are conduct rules that are violated to a point which they are disrupting things for Mods and posters so then they are banned. It is not a fun thing to do for any of us and we would prefer if we never did it. I have never been party to banning someone just out of spite. It is when it has to be done and there is no alternative. Usually that person gets a few warnings about their conduct.

You get banned for breaking the forum rules
and the SYM-rules (see the sticky)

It depends on the mod's if you get banned or not. I think you often get a warning first, but just try not to break the rules and keep it fun!!!!

Hello, Welcome :D

As far as banning goes, don't try to avoid the profanity filter, don't use you id as and advertiseing ploy. basically just use common sense.

Oh, and no discussing pirated software, that is the quickest way to get the big banned by your name I know of.

It's all in the rules at the top of the page. ;)

Basically follow the rules :) No links to porn sites or similarly objectionable material, no advertising unless you're paying Buck for the privilege, and have fun :) And no alter egos.

I have another question, how dous buck keep someone banned?
When you have a cable connection you have a standard IP-adres, but with a dial-up-modem you can change you're IP

That is somewhat of a technical question, i don't know, if it ever comes to that then one can contact the ISP and inform them of the conduct.

The dial up is moderated by your ISP who change one's IP and fiddle i would assume one can ban a range which would make it permanent for everyone on that range.

Stilgar,

Look at this way. If a person gets banned, obviously the user name is banned. I don't know if the IP is banned as well. It is simple enough to create another user account at a different location (or via cable and dial-up, per your suggestion). However, this banned user is more than likely going to stir up trouble quickly (a bitterness at being banned). At this point, most of us users as well as the moderators can usually identify a banned member with a new account. Then that account gets banned. And so on...usually the banned person will 'get it' or 'get bored' and move on.

Definetely don't advertize other websites in your topic post.

Like starting a topic, telling everybody to come to your site.

I seriously reccomend you not do that. Trust me on that one.
