Buried Village

Post by Witch King »

Hey guys. I just started playing Planescape Torment this week-end, and think I killed someone I shouldn't have and need your guidance

When you meet up with Pharod, he asks you to go get a Copper Ball or somesuch, down below. You need to go through this gate though in order to get there. But, a while back, I slew all of the gate guards including "Barr" who apparently is the guy who can open the gate. When I slew them, one of them fell behind the gate, so I couldn't loot him (icon changes to "open gate" icon), maybe he had a key, but I couldn't get it. When I go back now, the new guards just tell that since Barr is gone, they can't open the gate. Advice?

MODS: Btw, I know there is a Forum for this game, and posted here anyway, for two reasons - 1) I figured I'd get an answer here first, and 2) You guys need SOMETHING to do, right?....
Come not between the Witch King and his prey, or he will not slay thee in thy turn, but will bear thee away to the houses of lamentation, beyond all darkness, where thy flesh shall be devoured, and thy shrivelled mind be left naked to the lidless Eye.

Try going back to the Smoldering Corpse bar and talking to Narochj (i think) he is the owner of the bar. It might reactivate the quests.
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

Ok, I have finally suceeded in bashing the gate down, so that's all I needed. Thank you everyone though, for your contributions (Sleep especially)

Ok, another question: how can I raise my Wisdom quickly?

Depending upon where you are in the game, you should be able to buy the following tattoos that boost Wisdom: Tatto of the Redeemer (Trias-related), of Saving Grace, of the Spirit, and of the Soul. If you're close to the beginning, grab the last two. Collectively, they'll bost your Wisdom by +3.

Thanks, fable. But that's like, work. And it costs, like, money. Any other EASY way? I didn't know Wisdom affected EXP as MUCH as it does, (which is silly), and refuse to re-start the game. I'll revert to your suggestion if none of you know of a way I can hold "alt" and press the key "w" at the same time to do it...

@Foul, I just searched on the game and "cheats," and found this: http://www.actiontrip.com/cheats/planes ... ment.phtml It appears to be kind of involuted, but should allow you to change stats. Good luck with it.
