Yes, I watch Survivor. I’ve even toyed with the idea of auditioning to be a contestant. I think my charm an Machiavellian guile would see me through to victory… but why on earth do you have a banner featuring that abysmal poseur, Boston Rob at the top my page? Sure, rub it in that the true outdoorsy, likeable contenders Gina and Hunter are no more, outlasted by a pathological liar with an over-inflated view of his intelligence. Sarah, the bikini wonder, has also been claimed by the unfeeling hand of fate... Get Rob off my computer!

I watch it, but reluctantly. I try not to, as I feel it is fake, even though it claims to be a reality show. And honestly, I have thought about trying to become the second Canadian on the show, just for the experiance (yeah, I know I just contradicted myself  ). Although, I'm confused at what your saying here. Care to elaborate?

Rob kind of looks like he has been bitten by a crab or something.
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

Maybe all the SYMers would be willing to contribute enough money to send 16 of us to a secluded island to play out thier own little 'Survivor' game....? :D :o :p
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

Bikini babes and lions - ?

I don't mean this as a flame, but ... anyone who watches Survivor is, IMHO, contributing to the downfall of civilization itself. I tell you in all honesty: we are about one half-step away from the coliseum all over again. :(

Wouldn't the terrible shock of seeing the person behind that lovable little avatar be enough to send all 16 contestants run screaming into the sea? :D ;)

At least you say this without any melodrama or exaggeration. I also like the factual cites you use to back up your doomsday hypothesis.

I'm thinking that at the end of the show, there would be nothing left but a smattering of unmarked graves, Waverly, and few select lady SYMers. :D

This has to be the best idea I have ever heard here at SYM. :) :)

Imagine me...with a big club on an island...and on one person can survive.

Plus we could choose a class. Mages would be up the creek witout a paddle...but fear not..I will not be a mage.

I will be a plain old Fighter. :D

"Factual cites" - ? Having used the term "in my humble opinion," I would think makes it clear that I have neither the need nor the inclination to back my statement with statistics. I gave an opinion - you are free to disagree, or to refute it with facts if you so desire.

However, I truly believe you to be an intelligent and creative person, so I will ask you: what worth do you see in such shows? What does such a show do for you?

"I tell you in all honesty: we are about one half-step away from the coliseum all over again." This statement was not prefaced as an opinion. emphasis added

What do I like about such shows? I'm a competive person, and it is a unique contest. I will eventually bore of it, but for now it is a novel competition.

In the beginning

Mr.Sleep held the most post

Then I surpassed the master

Now he takes it back

What does the future hold?

The future looks bright for Aegis

Anyway, Moench, I actually think we should be rbing back the coliseums. At least then we could admit to being the bloodthristy society we really are, instead of hiding it behind a facade of Teletubbies and Muppets.

ya, i can't wait until they take away the boxing gloves and give them axes in celebrity boxing. i think it's only one or 2 episodes away.
and commenting on the survivor thing. I think we should have our own survivor here on SYM! 16 of us should all get on a thread and vote each other off. one person voted a day. then the person who wins gets some prize or something, maybe they can be a mod. unless they're allready a mod, then they can do something else.

we should have an unbiased and respected member of the board choose the 16. maybe we could even get buck to do it.

Ok, amusing as this is, I don't get the original point to it. Where is this picture? What? I am confused.

I have to say I don't watch survivor, because I spend a lot of my time living outside, sometimes in a tent, sometimes not, and I tell you now, they have it easy!!
Plentiful food, warm weather, and free drinking water! Try winter camping where it's -20 C, all animals are hiding, and you have to boil snow for water. It's sketchy!

And, hipocrite that I am, someday I'll apply for that show, and walk away with a million dollars. beware Aegis, the only light for you is at the end of the tunnel. START RUNNING!! :D

Oh ya, Waverly's toast!
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.
