my brother is currently playing tob and for some reason none of the human chars he created can dual class (the dual-class button is not enabled).
he has the newest patch for tob too.
os: win 2000.
cpu: duron 600
ram: 128
video: radeon ddr
sound: diamond monster sound

He needs to be human and have 15 in all the prime stats of the original class and 17 in the stat of the dual class.
I.E:
15 str and 17 int if he want's to dual from a fighter to a mage.

Besides that you can only dual class if the resulting class would be a possible multiclass choice. Eg Paladins and specialist wizards can't be dual classed.

I think your alignment is an issue as well. If the alignment of your first class is not supported by the class into which you want to dual, then you can't do it even if you had the required stats.

I think it was a while ago that I started a kensai in lawful good with 17 str, 18 dex and 18 con and tried to dual into thief, but it just wouldn't let me do it. The most annoying thing until I checked the alignment ^_^
