I just looked out and noticed there are two toilets standing in the snow at the yard. Looks very Duchamp-ian!
I live in a city, and in this part of town, most houses are from the middle or end of the 19th century. Stone houses of 4-5 stores, built in square blocks with yards in the middle. From one side of the flat, I see the street and the houses at the opposite side. There's a French restaurant, an Italian delicatessen and a Veterinary ER. From the other side of the flat, I see the yard with 5-6 cm (2 inches) of snow on the ground, a sole bike and some wooden benches. There is also a small building in the middle of the yard, the roof is covered with snow, nicely lit up by some round lamps, surrounded by a few small trees and bushes. It's very quite since it's in the middle of the night here. (+1 GMT)
So what do you see from you windows? Just curious to know your surroundings.

I have a pretty view of the whole neighborhood from my house atop the hill. I can see beautiful sunrises and sunsets from my room. I wish I could take a photo of it and scan it up, but the scanner is busted. I can see the spring and fall perfectly, all the trees different colors. I'm lucky
I live in a rowhouse built around the turn of the (last) century, and another building just across the way was built at the same time: they are big, red brick buildings, three stories high. Right now, I can look across the street into my neighbors apartment - he appears to be having dinner. (And, I can only assume, that he can see me as I type away!)
Also across the road are some low-income housing buildings built in the '80's. Small, cramped, all looking just alike.
If I switch round to the backside of my apartment, I have a much better view: downtown Minneapolis. It is quite beautiful. Maybe we should have a "post a photo out of your window" thread, like the "post your photo" thread?
Only a bit of snow, but it is very cold. Maybe I'll make a fire ...

I can't see out my window as the blinds are closed in order to keep people from spying on me late at night when I'm not wearing much.
If I had the bilnds open, I'd see a big palm tree, a half-finished brick fence(missing the actual fence part), some mostly dead grass on a mostly grassless yard, gravel on the other side of the "fence," the road, some cars parked across the streeet, some boring houses, and the boring Arid Zone A sky. But then, there ain't much to see in Coolidge, Arid Zone A.
But since I can't see out my window, I don't see any of that.

Most boring - to judge we'd need to see the evidence. Here's my view from my desk. Out the office 'window' then across the heads of a host of RL@minions then (although you don't see it in the photo) to the actual outside window which is 100% green tree leaves, dappled in sun light shifting with the breeze. - Damn it now I've talked it up.

Thanks! Monk-man, Monkster, Monk-a-rama ... most nicknames are no problem, but that one has some connotations that are not very nice. Sorry for the CAPITAL LETTERS!! No offense taken.
Back on subject: my neighbor is done with dinner, and appears to be going through papers with his wife(?). I wonder if they are planning a vacation? Or preparing taxes? Homework?
Am I a peeping monk, now?

Good night, peeping Monkster Connotation? Either I'm too tired or I don't know enough English to see what connotations you are refering too. I'll avoid that particular nickname anyway.

@Curdis: I don't think even the view from my job can compete with that - at least I've got a parking space, a red brick building, some trees and some sky to look at

Just because I find it funny, I'll explain show where the connotation comes in(that is, what connotation I know of it ).
"Monkie Boy" sounds like "Monkey Boy"
Um...if you don't get it now, then perhaps one of the other animal lovers could explain it better. I don't want anyone to think I have any personal experience in this area.

Oh, so "Monkey boy" would be a person who is an "animal lover", not that I call that specific paraphilia (sexual perversion) "love".
Gee, I had no idea.

"Rear Window?" Do you feel like Jimmy Stewart? If you see Raymond Burr digging in the back yard, run for it!
