Shutdown problem

Post by josh »

After playing BG2 or any game for 2 hours or more, I'll do a proper shutdown but I get a blue screen of death with the message:

Windows protection error.
You need to restart your computer. System halted.

This is annoying as I need to restart my computer to properly shut down. Is there any way to fix whatever is wrong. I'm using Windows ME.

I think the Bioware site has a fix for that XP bug.

Windows Me always do that when you have your pc turned-on for a long period of time, i used to had WinME and since my pc is working for many hours, i just couldn't shut it down properly.

Either switch back to the good old win98se or upgrade to 2000 or XP if you want better performance. :)
