Can't find magic rope in fish city

If I side with the prince I get the magic rope. But if I side with the king to get gaunlet of crushing, he doesn't give me the magic rope to get down to drow city. He gives reward then disappears. I can't get the key to open the his treasure door to get the rope. Do any of you know how I suppose to get the magic rope? Thanks.

I have never sided with the king, but have you checked the corpse of the prince? Otherwise, try killing the king as well.

You can't kill the king because after you deliver prince's heart to king, he talks to you and then he disappears.

Does anybody ever get gaunlet of crushing? That is the only way to get it.

SPOILERS......Dude I had this same problem once, and figured out that there was a dialogue mixup somewhere. It happens when you side with the Prince and then go against him, these exact problems come up. You have to tell the prince that you will kill him from the very beginning when you meet the King and give him the Princes real heart. I went back to a previous game and went through with all intentions of helping the King and killing the Price, and I got all the goods and the rope for the way out.

I believe the only thing that you do not get is the Kick Bu** Spear.....because you will not be able to kill the King after you give him the Princes Real Heart

Thanks man. I was about to give up on this game but now I can continue. Since I solo monk there are not a lot of items useful for a monk. I was kinda desperate to get that gaunlet of crushing.
