was anyone dissapointed?
I dont know about u but when I looked on the back of PoR in the store it looked great, and the other D&D games i have are wonderful. I have the whole BG series and thought it would be like that, when I played the game though I was totally dissapointed. Most of the people looked like Guys in ninja armor and there was nothing like helms or such. The turn based thing also killed me, I put my mage in the back and then the orc walk right past my fighter up to him. What can i do? I move he attacks, I cast a spell he attacks, the only thing i can do is hope my fighter kills him and attack him with the spear.

I love the BG series as well and was looking forward to the 3. edition rules i PoR. But i also got a little dissapointed because the game does not consist all the 3. edition rules. Also i think the turnbased style is boring sometimes, even though you can speed the game up a bit.
But maybe i just *expected* it to be like BG, and that is why i got a little dissapointed. But it is an ok game - but a little bit more "hack-and-slah" style than i imagined.
And yes - if your enemies eyed your amge, i guess there is not much to to, but cast some protection spells.

We are all heroes...you and Boo and I, hamsters and rangers everywhere - rejoice!
The game has it's flaws, but it's also a good game. You can't compare it to BG because it's completely different style of game. This is a Turn-based Hack n' Slash with the capabilities of having a party. It's nothing more. This game is nothing more than turn-based diablo with a party. Play it that way, because if you're looking for role-playing this game doesn't have much. So just build you character the best he/she can be.
