I think that either the Rams will win in a blowout or the Patriots will win close. If I were putting up real money, I'd take the Pats to cover the spread (14 points) but lose the game.

I think it will be the Rams - but I do hope the Patriots will put up a good fight (like the game they played against the Steelers :) )

But usually it will be the oppersite of what I think - so I'd not be surprised if the Patriots take this one (I doubt it though :D )

Yeah amsterdam has a team, Amsterdam Admirals. :D And the only reason I know are the cheerleaders, soccer should have them to, would make the game a lot more interresting. :D

the patriots will get their ass kicked. Oakland would have beaten them and then Steelers but that stupid rule and the ******** ref has to screw it up.

Oakland all the way. :D

I usually don't watch the superbowl, instead I go out and skateboard on the amazing quiet streets. Today for some reason I decided to watch it; I have to say it was a good game.

The quality of play during the Super Bowl has historically been poor, with several obscene blowouts, although this has changed in the last several years.

I was just happy to see the night turn out where the football game was better than the commercials (for once!), and that all of the preparation that went into security paid for a bunch of guys with machine guns sitting around all night doing nothing.

So true. The way I see it atleast, superbowls are about the audience and the winners. not about the gameplay- they usualy have pretty bad gameplay. What I mean is, it is obviously important who wins, and the game is renowned for being a big social event, tuns of viewers, tun of ads, and here, where I live me and seven other freinds of mine got up at 2 am to see the game, just like we do for the oscars, emmy, golden globes, and the world series.
I like the world series much more. since the world series usualy have some amazing plays, in addition to the winning and the social part of it. I am personaly a Yankee fan, and I'm not just picking a winner, (which, even after last year, they still are) I am a product of New York and therefor have the right to be a fan of one of their baseball teams!

Three out of the last five have been pretty good games. I think we're starting to see the league's parity working its way up to the top game. While this may mean the end of dynasties in pro football, I think it makes the playoffs and the Super Bowl much more exciting and accessible to the average fan because now every team has a chance to go deep into the playoffs in any give year (except for Cincinnati and Arizona).

I want the dynasties back!
I want the Cowboys, Steelers, 49ers, Bills, Dolphins in the big game like it used to be. The dynasties ended in 1996. :(  :( .
Get the dynasties back.

Thorin,

Bills Dynasty??? I believe that's more of a team that steps up to the gallows pole for the big dance.

I am a product of New England (for better or worse :D ) and I've been a Pats fan all my life. No one gave them a chance in 1985, for good reason as the 85 bears ARE the best football team over the past two decades. No one gave them a chance again the GB Packers in 1996, and they put up a pretty good fight.

I had some faith in their ability to put up a good fight. I believe their coach had them very well prepared for the game and continually pointed out all the pressure was on the Rams to win this one. Their defensive played a perfect game and the offense made no mistakes. I hate the fact that Rams fans are saying 'we beat ourselves' because they can't accept the ass whoopin' they received by an inferior team, and I mean inferior team. I don't think anybody could argue the Rams were the better team, but that's why they play the game.

It is still surreal to me that they pulled it off. I've been waiting my whole life to see the Pats win a championship. It was a great football game, probably the best Super Bowl I've ever watched, regardless of whether or not the Patriots won, which, of course, they did. :D

@Ned: Are you and Bill Simmons the same guy? No one from the Rams will admit this, but they (like the Steelers before them) bought into the hype about how they were soooooo good and looked past the Pats (maybe Kurt was too busy rehearsing for his "I'm going to Disney World" line or checking with his accountant about how much money he and his mom were going to make next year from Campbell's).

The first time Torry Holt ran across the middle of the field and got clocked, I knew the Pats meant business and that the Rams were in for a long 60 minutes. Congrats for putting up with so many bad years of AFL and AFC football in New England and finally having something to show for it!

It's just too bad that Madden and Summerall had to announce the game and ruin it for us all . . .
