my monk

Post by garfy9 »

this is actually garfeild9 i just lost my pass so i got it to get sent to me bla bla bla waited to long so had to do it again so i made this account so i could post so here i go...

Ive been playin around with the character generator latly and found that and what ive found is that I could go elf and have 17 dex 10 str 14 con 12 wis 10 int 10 cha then I can pour all my bonus points into dexterity and have 22 dex!! To do this I would have to sacrifice str modifier but theres a feat the name escapes me but it lets u use your dex mod on melee attack rolls aswell as ranged which means I would have a +6 dex mod so plus 6 to hit aswell as good ac and could punish some people with a repeating crossbow I would have no damage mod from str but I would only have 2 normally anyway so what do u all thinik sure id have to get to lvl 20 first which sounds like the real hard part but I think it would work well as long as that feats in the game of course

i dont think theres any mistakes there but what do u guys think anyways

The feat you refer to is the weapon finesse feat. Sounds great, though i have a hard time picturing a rustic monk using a repeating crossbow...i'm not for sure, but you might even have to get an exotic weapon feat in order for the monk to use that. It's worth looking into. :)

Repeating crossbow is indeed a exotic weapon, and if included, it will most likely need the the feat, exotic weapon proficiency (crossbow, repeating).

The problem with a hig dex low strength character is that you have to maintain light load to get full dex bonus to AC. So to have +6 (dex 22) on AC with a str 10 character you can't carry more than 33lb (assuming medium size). Otherwise you only get +3 (mediume load) or +1(heavy load).

Excellent point, Zorac. And trust me, Garf, 33 lbs. gets used up fast! You can make it work, but you have to be very choosy about what you carry.
