need help, combat is a joke
This game is marvelous. My only gripe is with the combat system. Right now, at level 7 with only virgil as my companion, it takes some 20 minutes to dispatch of a couple of wolves. Is there any way to speed up the turn based combat? If I try the real time combat, everyone is dead in the blink of an eye. Anyone have any combat tips? I fear I will have to go through the game as a pacifist or I will quickly lose interest.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

Combat
The spacebar by default switches between combat modes.
The best way is to not hurry but fight everything from the beginning to the end. Doing this your level should be 6 when you go to fight the thieves at the gate. And you level should be at 50 before going to Thantos.
I usually start as a mage and one of my first spells is Harm. Harm is the only spell of which there is no defence. One or two castes and a wolf is dead. It even works in Wolf cave if I drink a bottle of Expand Fatigue(?)
Since you can select what skill to use Mellee or Range can be added later if you want.
