I have resently replayed SoA for the purpose of playing ToB with the same character(s), and i have heard that allowing imoen to sacrifice part of her soul to ressurect Sarevok should result in more interesting events later in ToB.
However when i talk to sarevok he would not recognize imoen as bhaalspawn and would not let her do this for me.
Does anyone know what this might depend on? I have continued directly from SoA rather then importing the final save and in hell i choosed the evil path only in the Sarevok quest.

As long as you have Imoen in the party you should be able to give up part of her soul instead. When you get up to the part where you can agree to give up your soul, choose "Is there no other way of restoring you?", this will lead to you deciding whether to let her give up part of her soul, do it yourself or refuse.
The Hell tests doesn't matter, and the only way you can have Imoen in the party - other than cheating - is by continuing straight from SoA.

But when i take the option "is there no other way" he reply that there is no way unless i have a bhaalspawn with me that he is unaware of, I then get options to agree or refuse or say something like "im not sure yet" and none of those things will let imoen do the sacrifice
btw, cant you talk to sarevok first and say you dont want to give up your soul then let the statue summon imoen and talk to sarevok again?
