OK, really simple problem here for you geniuses.
I can't find my BG2 book, and CD2 is messed up; I can access the info on it, but my drive won't read it.
So I can't play BG2.
Can someone please tell me how to do the full install; I've done this before but I can't remember for the life of me how to do it.
Thanks.

several questions.... first, are you able to read the cd rom at all???
or does it have a certain whirring sound that indicates you have the collectors edition and one of its known off centered cd rom disk 2???
if you cannot read the cd rom at all, using windows explorer, call bioware tech support and they should be able to provide a replacement. same goes if you have the collectors edition. It will be either a media problem, in which case the best thing to do is replace it, or you have a bad cd rom drive, in which case you can get a replacement at local store. try installing other software and see if you have a problem reading them.

to do the full install it should be an option on the installation screen. if you mean doing a min install and tricking it into a full install go to [url="http://www.bioware.com,"]www.bioware.com,[/url] one of the frequent questions has the directions.

Cut and paste from BioWare support page:
Add CD5=[BG2]\CD5 under [Alias]
and copy [cddrive]\CD5 ===> [BG2]\CD5

With ToB do the following:Minimum to Full Install
1. Do a Minimum install.
2. Edit your "baldur.ini" file. Change the line "Install Type=1" to "Install Type=3". Also, you will need to edit the [Alias] section. Make the following changes where [BG2] is the location of your BG2 install
[Alias]
HD0=[BG2]
CD1=[BG2]\CD1
CD2=[BG2]\CD2
CD3=[BG2]\CD3
CD4=[BG2]\CD4
3. Copy the following directories (and all their contents) from the BG2 CDs to your BG2 install folder, where [cddrive] is the letter of your CD-ROM drive and [BG2] is the location of your BG2 install
CD2
[cddrive]\CD2 ===> [BG2]\CD2
CD3
[cddrive]\CD3 ===> [BG2]\CD3
CD4
[cddrive]\CD4 ===> [BG2]\CD4
You now have a Full install.
Add CD5=[BG2]\CD5 under [Alias]
and copy [cddrive]\CD5 ===> [BG2]\CD5
