Trouble with Sendai

Post by Tutoric »

I cannot seem to make anything work with that b!tch. I have gotten through the statues but always get wiped just after the final battle begins. Tried some different tactics at the start but am getting more and more frustrated.

No matter what I try I usually lose 2-3 party members and then get swarmed by the Sendai's and drow. I think the hardest is when the drow go invisible in the fire shield. How do you get those out of the way?

Anyone got some tips?

I'm just getting to that point in the game, but when I've encountered other enemies behind the "searing ring of death," or whatever they call it, I just send in my tanks, in Red Dragon Scale or with a ring of Protection from Fire, and beat the Holy Hell out of them!

I can't tell if I'm inflicting any weapon damage or not, but at least the extra damage from certain weapons gets through. Whatever it is, piling on and pounding the crap out of them seems to work. :)

I had the same problem. I read the guide on some of the ways to kill her. I found one easy way is to get your party up onto a platform after you kill one of the clones of her. It is so much easier to kill her this way. Then you only have one battle front to fighter her on. And the room is so large that if you are on one side of the room the other sendai will not see you there. It gives you time to get ready for the next fight.

I never had any trouble with the boses, well, except Abizagal. Sendai however, is pretty easy. Just have one of your back up tanks standing by the back to keep the drow busy, I used H'D using defensive stance singing imp battle song backed up by cenrd and Imeon while not spellcasting. My ranger, Sarevok and keldorn took care of the statues and later the ***** herself. (Can I curse here? If not, sry Fable) Just use your back up tanks or someone with reallly low ac to stall the drow while hitting them w/spells. let your bad boy tanks kill Sendai
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

My main strategy was to summon a Planetar and some other things to deal with whatever warped in, then just set my tanks on her, seemed to work pretty well in core rules.

Hey Tutoric...

What about giving us a rundown on your party make-up? I think incoming suggestions would be a lot more helpful for you per se. Coz as it is, there are a zillion (okay, so I was just exagerrating ;) ) possibilities to answer your question.

Cheers! :D

My party: Minsc, Anomen, Aerie, Imoen, Valygar, and my Paladin.

Heavy duty weapons weilded by all but the spells seem to be ineffective for the most part. Every time I summon anything it is quickly wiped out by Sendai.

Again, my biggest hurdle seems to be the drow in sanctuary with the fire shield. They walk right up on the platform where I have the party all in one place and just clog up the stairs and inflict fire damage on my lesser protected party members.

Also, the couple times I got the the last Sendai my PC gets wiped out pretty quick and I'm not even sure what she gets me with. I am pretty protected from magic but ???

I positioned my party in twos by each statue, ready to take her on immediatelyon whichever platform.

I had an elemental prince by the doors to deal with the drow, and a planatar and fire elementals in the middle of the room.

It was probably the longest battle, but on my third attempt (after finding out how the battle worked) I had only lost Edwin (but then he is often a casualty :) )

I fought this battle last night. It took me only one attempt, but it was long and costly. Three NPCs died, my main character almost died, and I had to resurrect a fourth character in the middle -- a Cavalier I created for multi-player -- she fought the rest of the battle without armor and saved my ass! Wand of resurrection revived my three casualties.

Interesting note: Sendai gated in a Pit Fiend. I got everyone protected from evil in time, and the Fiend attacked Sendai! He almost killed her before he bit the dust.... :D

You better summon a clay golem for the drow. I think he is immune, and a planetar to help with sendai and statues.

Then just keep hitting statues/sendai and blast away with spells. You might want to disable AI with your mages and use pause so you can cast spell all the time. TS+IA, then 3 or 4 times pierce magic and then 1000 fire arrows should put her to her grave. Actually that compo puts anything to the grave. If she is resistant to fire use AHW.

TS= Time Stop
IA= Improved Alacrity
AHW= Abi-Dhabiz's Horrid Wilting (spelling?)

Finally, after the fourth or fifth attempt I finally beat her. I lost Imoen, Aerie, and Valygar but Minsc, Anomen, and my Paladin worked very well.

What worked: I used Minsc and Anomen at the door to take out the drow and used the rest to focus on the Sendai(s). By the final battle my PC was at 100% and I had several summoned creatures distracting Sendai while I just kept bludgeoning her until she gave.

I needed the "fantasy" break after watching the disaster coverage all day. It was good to take out my aggression on the game.

I hear you, dude. I was sorely tempted to take a well-outfitted half-orc barbarian and do some serious hack-n-slash to a few quests, like Umar hills or something. Planes? Take that -- whack! High-rise -- whack! Hijacking -- whack!

Sadly -- it's just too real.

Later.

the drow renforcement comes in from the entrance. just have one of your clerics stand at the entrance with globe of blades. sendai is only powerful if she can cast her spells. have someone cast true seeing and have your mages use energyblades and your druid cast summun-insects(or something simular). dis-spell her protections as nessasary.

I just slapped a tank alongside a Deva to hold the rear, while another tank charged each statue, while the remainder of my party sat in the centre and sent in volley after volley of arrows and bullets at Sendai.

I thik the key is not to let the drow pile up. take them out first, especailly the 1 drow wizard.
