Dark Brotherhood coexisting with thieves guild?
Dark Brotherhood coexisting with thieves guild?
I got some advice in my previous thread about the grey fox to do the dark brotherhood quests first....but the problem is I am already in the thieves guild....sooo do you know if I can do the DB quest line and still be a member of thieves? Is there a workaround?
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
I've never had problems doing thieves guild quests at the same time as doing DB quests. The prohibition against murder should only apply if killing whilst doing thieves guild quests. In fact on at least one occasion one occasion I picked up crime bounty whilst doing DB quests and got them removed by the thieves guild.
The only conflict of this kind I've encountered was doing one of the TG quests; the one for the arrow, where the Grey Fox tells you it's OK to kill doing the quest. Problem is the guy he tells you you can kill is a member of the Mages guild, so you can end up being booted out of the MG.

But you don't HAVE to kill him. Operate in Sneak mode and with both Invisibility and the best Chameleon you have operating, so you can open things without being spotted, and there is no need to kill anything unless you want to.galraen wrote:

It can be a bit complicated being in all the guilds at once - you get harassed by quests from every direction, and some of 'em clash! It's even trickier if you are doing the main quest at the same time.

I decided I am going to role play a fighter/thief in the main quest and guilds. I have frostcrag spire so I am independent of mage guild. Then for shivering isles I'll be an evil bastard DB/mage

I was mostly Thief/Mage. Very useful combination.
And yes, Frostcrag Spire is very handy when you have it up a completely running - and even just Alchemy Altar and Enchanting makes a huge difference.
