dead magic???

Post by gwen »

I am in he maze in Keeper's Watch and when I try casting magic it says spell won't work because of dead magic. What does this mean and how can I fix it? I was in room 4 and Tahazzar never made me an offer to kill his enemy for his heart. He attacked me. That's when my magic wouldn't work. I killed them all with a lot of running in and out and now am in a room with a lot of womem, still no magic so I quit and am writing to you. PLEASE HELP! I don't think there is ANY way to finish this game without magic. Thanks

Do not worry, it is just the nature of some of the rooms in the keep, just like there is a wild magic field in other rooms.

Don't cast spells in wild magic rooms asyour char can change sex! or turn yellow, or lose gold! Wands and other devices are safe, tho.

One of the more enduring legacies of the Time of Troubles. Once I accidentally turned Minsc into a woman. :D

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know which rooms are which before I go into the rest of the maze? Thanks

I found a scroll somewhere in the Maze Level that said the red and blue rooms contained "dead" or "wild" magic, although I am not sure which is which. I found this scroll when I was on my way out, so I never needed to be wary of it.

Blue rooms are Dead magic, red rooms are wild magic(if your a wild mage you have a chance to control the effects of the wild magic)
Hope it helps! :)
P.S. if you want other info on the maze Ive made a chart for myself on how to pass it.
