Hey.
I tried searching the forums but I've got a feeling my problem is of, atleast a rare kind.
I installed this game as usual, and out of boredom I tabbed out and surfed a bit to kill the time. I tab back and see the process has reached 51% so I figure it's time to change the CD. But no matter how much I tab around and try to get the CD change message, it just won't appear, so I make a rash decision to force an abortion of the installation through ctrl+alt+delete (yeah I know, it was stupid).
So anyway, I'm stuck with just enough files that the autorun considers the game installed. Of course I can't play it, but I can't seem to uninstall it either. It's just stuck in some sort of virtual limbo where I can't get anything done. I tried to google some solutions and I figured out that the game's missing registry files.
I would greatly appreciate some help, and do throw in a small speech on lazyness and rash decisions if you feel like it, I probably need it.

In dire need of tech support
Uninstalation :
1. Delete the IWD folder (C:\Program Files... bla bla)
2. Install and run a registry cleaning software (Ccleaner is a freeware one, quite good)
OR
2alternative : Run regedit and do it on your own (only if you KNOW how to use it and KNOW what to look for!)
This will remove IWD from your PC.
Instalation :
Just be patient, and don't tab out of the installer until after 52%. If i recall correctly it takes a while before the IWD instalator asks you for 2nd cd.

Thanks for the reply.
I did try the regedit method through a guide on the internet but it seems there are some files missing that prevents me from using that method. Like I said, I'm no expert but I suspect that the installation maybe didn't come as far as to implementing thoose files. But most likely, I have no idea what I'm talking about
I'll give your other suggestion an attempt though, thanks!

Allright, I did delete the files and run the Ccleaner and the problem still remains, still can't uninstall the game.
I took a screenshot of the error message to (hopefully) make things a bit more clear.
The 'play' button on the autorun menu of course doesn't work because the installation never finished but the following picture shows what happens when you click uninstall.

This is the error message I get when I try to uninstall, which is sort of what I found out when I tried that other method you described. The thing I'm supposed to find in regedit just isn't there.
Ps. It just occured to me I perhaps didn't use the Ccleaner correctly. I just pressed the "run cleaner" button and it deleted some files, as well as attempting to uninstall Icewind Dale through the program.

You are to clean registry with 'ze Ccleaner'. I fail to see why wouldn't it work. Did you delete the IWD folder?
Ofcourse there is a way to instal the game even now, simply by browsing the CD and doubleclicking "Setup" and NOT running autorun.

Just delete the registry entry that the error message is telling you. It's pointing to an uninstall. Look through the rest of the uninstall entries in regedit and see if IWD is listed somewhere else and delete that too.
