Risen is not an old game. It came out sometime last year. And yes, I did play it at that time and liked it, despite some annoying bugs (like the camera going through a wall during a dialogue sequence), most of which were fixed in the latest patch.

Risen is from 2009 and is not very old.
With the term old i think more of games that were released several years ago, like Morrowind, Diablo II, Planescape: Torment, Realms of Arkania and so on.
A game from a year ago isn't considered as old.
I have played Risen myself. Bought the game in the store. Haven't finished it though. Might want to do that before Risen 2 hits the stores.
