Confusion with trading

Post by Dwalin2010 »

Sorry for creating too many threads with questions, but this time I got a really annoying problem which stops me from being able to play further if somebody doesn't explain it to me. It's about the confusion with the trading system. If I try to sell a whole collection of items to the merchant, he gives me very little gold, much less then the combined price of the items must be. But, if I sell the items one by one, he initially pays me full prices, but then suddenly stops giving any gold to me. Even if I give him an axe that costs 4000, he still gives me 0 for it. If I buy something from him after that, he starts paying me again, but not at full prices anymore, even if I sell the items one by one, like at the beginning. Could anybody please explain me, if it’s me that hasn’t understood the system or is it a bug. Because for now I really don’t understand how to get enough money if the merchants stop paying me even for expensive items.

Shopkeepers in DD have a limited amount of money. Their amount of money increases when you buy something, because you pay them your own money.

Healers in Aleroth are poor. You can sell (or barter) just a few cheap items to them. You will be able to sell expensive items later in Rivertown. Collect items in a chest now (you have one in Joram’s house). You can move this chest into your inventory later and transport it anywhere you want.

Shopkeepers restore their money every day, so visit them frequently.
