D3D windower - Any way to make it bigger?

Post by Iconoclast012 »

Okay, so I finally got this game running properly on my newer system. It was hell, but it's not really the games fault. First there was the spell glitch, which was crashing the game. I fixed that issue, and by fixing that issue I created the mouse trails. I don't know which is more annoying. But...to my point.

I'm running the game with D3Dwindower now as ghostdog suggested. It eliminates all of the problems with the game except for one. I can't seem to scale the window to fit my screen. I've been toying around with different resolutions and at 800x600 or 1024x768 the game window is the size of a gameboy screen and everything in the game is zoomed in too far. At high resolutions like 1280x720 the window is much bigger, but everything in the game becomes so small that I can't see anything unless I press my face up to my monitor. I have a 23" LG widescreen with 1920x1080 16:9 or 16:10 native resolution.

I have the 1.1 patch installed, the "unfinished business mod", the fixpack, bigg's widescreen mod and Ghostdog's UI mod.

Now, when I set the game to 1920x1080 via the widescreen mod, it finally fills the screen and everything is just right (not too small, not too big). The problem is that in 1920x1080 the window is off-screen on the bottom half and right side of my monitor, by at least a good two or three inches, once again making it unplayable. All I want to do is scale this window to fit my screen, I don't care if there's a border, I don't care if I can see the taskbar or anything. I just don't want the window to be either off-screen or the size of a handheld game system where it kills my eyes.

I've seen some options in D3D windower for scaling, but none of them seem to work because everytime I enable them and try to run the game, it just doesn't load up. Infact, when I change any of them besides the "emulate ddraw" and "cursor clip" options the game won't load up until I restart my computer. Even if I change them back and try to load it up again. How strange is that?

So, can anyone help me out here? What do I need to do to make this window scale to fit my screen properly?
