Removing laptop keys.

Post by Tricky »

I had a minor tea spill over the outer left part of the keyboard of my laptop a little while ago. While I was able to drain tea from the laptop without complications, some of the sugary stickiness remained. The keys aren't completely stuck, but using them is bothersome. I'm looking for a way to remove the keys and clean their sockets.

Packard Bell's technical service was "unable to advise on how to remove keys from the keyboard", so I am left with nothing. I realize there are many different types of laptop keyboard out there and mine happens to be a Packard Bell EasyNote ME35.

If worse comes to worst I can still pry open (and likely break) one of the keypad keys that are least used, so I can study how they work. But if anyone has some first hand experiences to share with me, I would very much like to know more before I start breaking things open.

Thanks.
