My plan is to finish bg1+ToTSC with party consisting of Me, Khalid, Jaheira, Minsc, Dynaheir, Imoen to make the whole story compatible with BG2 SoA. The I will import this PC to BG2 and start new game there.
Poll: Is there anyone that goes through BG1 before playing ToB ?

I ask because I have chosen this soluton to the problem how to conclude story. I started new game in BG1 (Half-elf F/M/C). Now I'm in 2nd act (Just lurking in the areas on the south of Naskhell and planning how to kill Bassilius 2nd level Party
).

I bought BG1 and TotSC last month waiting for ToB. My current PC is a mage that I started from BG1 and I'm now on Chapter 2 of SoA. I'll be playing my current party all the way to the end. With the exception of one swap -- I've gotta have the new NPC when I can get him!!

I have a game in BG1 Ch.3 (F Gnome Cleric/Illusionist), one in BG1 CH.5 (Paladin to go Undead Hunter), and about 4 games in various stages of BG2. I've never finished BG2! My most advanced party is in Suldanesselar, they hit the XP cap and I decided to wait for ToB instead of using a cap remover, or continuing.
I've been having more fun each time in BG1, I finished a set of scripts that I'm really happy with.
And I'm still learning stuff. Like, Acid Arrows work a treat against slimes! Always felt frustrated fighting them. And Xyx's spells reference has really opened my eyes to a few spells I'd neglected - like Charm Person.
I just knocked off Bassilus a couple of nights ago. I went to the Hobgoblin encounter first, charmed one of the archers (Charm Person - L1), wasted the other two, and sent the archer in as fodder against Bassilus around the corner. He wasted all his spells on the Hobgoblin, while we picked him off with missiles, it was great

Check my profile for the Glaicas patch
I play also trough BG1 and 2 before ToB.
To defeat Bassilus is easy, keep out of his vision and constanly charm the skeletons with algernons cloak.
Save 1 zombie for the end, when al the skeletons are dead attack him with a zombie and use missile weapons.
That's is how I did it with my solo bard.
This is my first time through and I am soloing(with my bard), but can anyone tell me where the tome of dextirity is?

Sorcery and Shadow together as one, the arcane and the dark united. Through our knowledge and skill none can stand against us. We are as one, infallible and invincible. The Shadow Mages.
It sounds like alot of fun, but if I do this I will never get finished in time and keep up with my responsibilities as a Moderator and continue working on the expansion. Thats why I am playing from SOA on, later on down the road I will start a new game and play all the way through.Actually I just got TOTSC two weeks ago and have not even played it yet, been so busy working on things...However on a side note my improved dragon AI is finished and is also the biggest AI file ever compiled for an enemy (though that does not mean its any good in fact it might be too slow to work effectively
on older computers).

This might not be relevant to the topic, but since I don't have Baldur's Gate 1, anyone thought about starting Shadow of Amn with a level 1 character? This is kind of cheating since you have to edit your character, but it would add some challenge to game.
I currently have a F/M/T at 0 xp, with all the stats like spells, saving throws and proficiencies changed to match a level 1 character, waiting for ToB to come out so I don't miss out on xp because of the cap.

Heh, do the graveyard's orphan quest and you're, what, level 5?anyone thought about starting Shadow of Amn with a level 1 character?
Of course, Irenicus' Dungeon should be the tough part...
