Some of the locations on these little side-trip planets seem completely inaccessible - either by MAKO or by foot.....What's the secret to reaching these places in the mountains - build a helicopter ????

So far I haven't find any place in any planet that I couldn't reach... though haven't tried to get a top every mountain as I usually refer my radar wether there is any need to get there at all. As far as I have noticed there is always a route passable by MAKO. THe route may be a bit tricky, but it's there.

You can go side to side and climb almost any of the mountains, except for an almost-vertical. It IS possible to get trapped with cliffs on all sides, but in that case, you just have your ship pick you up and restart from the default position.

Don't bother exploring much of the planets, though. The side-quest planets in Mass Effect are by far its worst quality, and after doing more than a dozen of the repetitive, bland planets with nothing but terrain, they grow very tiresome.
If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.
