question about the AD&D rules
Just wandering... What determines how many spells per level you can memorize? I figured out that it's not int or wis, since I tryed those (create char with 18 wis, and 18 int hack him to lvl 20 and still only 6 lvl 1 spells). Edwin for example has 10+ lvl 1 spells at lvl 15. Why can't my mage have that?
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

hello i have been playing ad&d for the last 5 years so u can trust me about mage rules in the game
first of all the amount of spells u can cast depends only on your level no bonouses unless u r a specielist which in that case may cast +1 spell from each level but cannot cast 1 type of spells in the real ad&d a specielist can learn 2 magic types not like in BG2
u must also remmember that edwin has magicall items that only he can cast if it was the real ad&d game it wouldnt be such a problem to be better than him but BG2 isnt loaded with powerfull items for wizards though iv'e seen good rings with pluses to spells chack tham out
good luck
