Stupid note

The note that's supposed to turn into an ear ring will not turn into a ring no matter what I do. I have done every sequence imaginable. Has this happened to anyone?
I guess I can just chuck it seeing as how I'm far after the mortuary, in fact, I almost finished all the quests I could find in the hive (so far).

Are you sure you have tried every possible combination? Have you got the "unfold pyramid" option?

I would have never figured that one out. Was there any clues on the sequence to do that. I tried it and worked by the way.

I guessed it from the number of the zombie (or was that skelton?), who gave it to you.
