DarkUld_Darn mod problem

Post by SupaCat »

I've seen people with this problem on the internet and a so called solution for it. It doesn't work for me. The thing is, I'm using Oblivion mod manager and installed the mod this way. It works, only ... the text is the normal Oblivion size. The readme says something of changing my Oblvion.ini (I should change the section fonts with the Darkuld_darn fonts). Anyway, it doesn't work (hence this post).

However, I might have just changed the wrong document. I changed the Oblivion_default.ini document, but quickly restored it to normal when I saw the exclamation of the maker of the mod, saying 'DON'T EVER CHANGE THE OBLIVION_DEFAULT FILE!'. So... Is it possible I just don't have a oblivion.ini? I just can't find it.

The default oblivion.ini is in your Morrowind directory. Your real oblivion.ini file is under Document Settings/Default User/My Documents/My Games/Oblivion/.

EDIT: When I set up Dark DarNIfied through the OBMM about a year ago, it asked me what font I wanted to use, and showed me samples of different ones. Didn't you get this choice?
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Nope. Strange, since the interface is changed and the OBMM says it's working normally.

Anyway, atleast I found the correct file. Thanks.

EDIT: Doesn't work... Replaced the files
SFontFile_5=Data\Fonts\Handwritten.fnt
SFontFile_4=Data\Fonts\Daedric_Font.fnt
SFontFile_3=Data\Fonts\Tahoma_Bold_Small.fnt
SFontFile_2=Data\Fonts\Kingthings_Shadowed.fnt
SFontFile_1=Data\Fonts\Kingthings_Regular.fnt

with

SFontFile_5=Data\Fonts\Handwritten.fnt
SFontFile_4=Data\Fonts\DarN_Oblivion_28.fnt
SFontFile_3=Data\Fonts\DarN_Kingthings_Petrock_16.fnt
SFontFile_2=Data\Fonts\DarN_Kingthings_Petrock_14.fnt
SFontFile_1=Data\Fonts\Kingthings_Regular.fnt

The game can't even start now. So, what did I do wrong?

I once tried to install with OMOD...
I had all kinds of problems and ended up just doing manual installs, and inserting the fonts into the .ini myself..
Works like a charm (though if you do that, make sure you download the correct version of the mod)
