no main skills apparent!

Post by pawz »

hello folks, I came on here with a query because I felt I was not making progress in the game despite fulfilling quests and leaping about, as you do, and I was advised that it is through the characters main skills that I advance to the next level. So I went back into the game to see what the main skills are for a redguard and found that there is no information on that page, just a - (dash) in that space, no skills detailed at all. Does that mean I have to start all over again? (sob). If I do not does THAT mean I will be stuck in level1 for ever? (groan)....

Here is everything you need to know about skills. It'll really clear things up.

That is odd. How could you have left the Imperial City sewers at the start of the game without a class? Is it possible you were looking under the wrong tab?

In any case, if you do not want, or are reluctant to start anew, you could always use the console to mod your character. Thus you can give him a new class, change his race or even his birthsign without having to start a new game.

There's a mod that allows you to skip the tutorial dungeon and you go straight from choosing your race to the exit from the sewer. When you click on the gate to exit the sewer you get the option of changing your race, class and birth sign, at that point you can exit the sewer without actually choosing a class and birthsign, did by accident myself once but realised it as I miss-clicked, so simply restarted immediately.

Right. I was assuming a vanilla Oblivion. But as I said above, the console commands of "showracemenu" and the like could be used to give your character a class, birthsign and even mod his race after the fact. I love the console :D
