Pet Peeves (Spam is ok IMO)

Post by Shadow Sandrock »

I have never seen this thread posted before. I figured I would start one. ^_^

What are the things that really tick you off?

Here's my little list

10.) VERY addictive BGM to video games (i.e. Stone Tower Temple from Majora's Mask, Tracey's music from Puzzle League)
9.) Cats that jump on your back, shred it, and jump down to tear apart your shoulder
8.) A little brother who wants the computer all day long and yells at you if you use it for more than 10 minutes
7.) Parents
6.) Children's TV shows
5.) Obese bus drivers that scream at you
4.) When your friend asks you for a goldfish after you just gave him a kitten (what is he trying to do to the poor thing?)
3.) Teachers who yell at you for shutting a door (or "Flopping" it as she said it...)
2.) People who download songs from you that have very slow connections

And my #1 Petty Peevey is...

1.) Never being able to find your name in the section of the grocery store that carries the license plates with a state and name on it

So let us indulge in a nice helping of spam while we discuss our pet peeves.

My Chicken Soup book that was missing 30 pages but gave me 30 extra of another one kinda got on me too... @_@

People who don't close cabinets in the kitchen.

when game banshee is offline

when one of my users opens a virus and spreads it by outlook

People who leave less than a bowl in a cereal box because they don't want to throw the plastic and break down the box.

When you fail to write a spell to your spellbook.

People in the drivers seat of a car who ride in their car instead of driving it. wake up.

when cd's don't get put back in the case.

The person in the shower just before who finishes off the soap and doesn't put another bar in the dish.

when I can't figure out why my DSL connection has gone out because the last thing in the world I want to do is call tech support for information.

moth's that fly their way into your house.

That time of the evening in the summer when the mosquitos decide to take over the sand volleyball court (and you're still trying to finish a match)

When you keep checking back at game banshee only to find that you've yet to receive one response to a thread you've started (like sleep, T, fable, SS, Ysh, Xyx, Thorin, etc... are all offline at the same time :)

Well, that's off the top of my head. Yeah, I'm a picky anal retentive neat freak with a devout hatred of insects even though I acknowledge their significance to the planet (don't want to upset all those PHDees in entymology)

Oh yeah, one more thing that drives me nuts:
When your playing Age of empires II, your men are being converted, but you can't seem to find the enemy monks.

And...when the fish aren't biting and your fishing in cold weather.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

People who excessively use cell phones. IMO there is nothing more rude than answering a cell phone if you are with somebody at the time. I can understand it in the event of emergencies, or if somebody is on call for professional reasons, but beyond that it is unnecessary and completely lacking in social grace. I also get irritated at hearing them go off in restaurants, cafes, movie theatres, or during lectures; this is intrusive.........

My rant for the morning ;)

People who drive down the highway using cellphones, oblivious to the rest of the universe while they're conversing.

Discovering while seated that your spouse previously finished the last roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. (More ax murderers have gotten their start in this fashion than through any other means.)

Getting to a store that locks the door for closing just as you reach it.

Being seated very near a person who starts coughing as soon as a concert begins...and stops, of course, during intermission.

Annoying complainers who write lists like these. ;)

Cell phones complaints are a whole separate thread. They go way beyond pet peeves

I did forget telemarketers. Of course, they're not completely bad. Not if you pan fry 'em with a little teriyaki sauce.

In no particular order:
  • People joking about giving me a haircut.
  • People insulting Star Trek fans(unless they're ridiculing the overly obsessive "fans." Those people are scary. )
  • People insulting Pokemon fans(unless they're ridiculing the annoying 8-12 year old poketwerps)
  • People who tailgate me.
  • People who pass me when I'm already driving twice the speedlimit
  • People ridiculing elves.
  • People saying that I'm obsessed with the anime Sailor Moon.
  • Half things that Random Shadow does(Of course, at least half the things I do annoy her, too, so it's an approximately equal trade off. ;) )
  • People impersonating my friends.
  • People saying dogs are better than cats.
  • Usagi's dubbed voice in Sailor Moon S.
  • Minako's dubbed voice in Sailor Moon S.
  • Dubbed anime.
  • What Nintendo did to the Zelda game for GameCube.
  • People who "judge a book by its cover."
That's all I can think of right now. Yeah, I'm a picky b!tch. Get used to it. ;) :p :D

I hate it when you buy a new computer game and when you open the box up, you get a triangular shaped crease on the flap. No matter hard you try to carefully open the box, there will always be a crease.

My pet peeves: (short list - As a Virgo I am also apparently a picky B!tch. )

Baby Boomers
Advertising (especially recent ads that feature actors who appear to be so happy they are about to wet themselves.)
Knee-jerk liberals
Knee-jerk conservatives
Personalized license plates
Political correctness when it devolves into blaming white males for everything.
When I'm posting on the Internet and my boss gives me dirty looks.

ps: dogs are NOT better than cats - I am never woken up by a cat barking nor when I am walking down the street do I constantly have to avoid stepping in cat poo. Why is that?
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

British Telecom's service!!

I have notified moving house, then the "service" woman said, "You don't seem to have this new service. Would you like to add it? It's free..." I was telling her moving house and terminating the contract of the phoneline!!

Stupid, stupid, stupid...

Sounds a lot like GTE, the only phone service in the Highland Lakes Area of Central Texas.
