the bone phoenix I think is a + 1 club with 1d6 fire damage. You may use 2 hands on a club, which means you get STR bonus x 1.5. A 2 handed Greatsword +1 does 2d6..
Bone phoenix: 1d6 physical +1 (enhancement) + STR BONUS x 1.5 + 1d6 fire
Greatsword +1: 2d6 physical +1(enh) + STR BONUS x 1.5
Actually the greatsword does the same damage, and is better since the physical damage multiplies on a crit, while fire damage does not. Bone phoenix might be a better weapon since you can wield a tower shield +1 at the same time and have 5 better AC.
Greatsword crit range is also better 19-20 vs 20.
