Computer Games: the Best, the Worst
Kinda self-explanatory, that title.
BG2's right in my top five of all time. So is King of Dragon Pass, which (I hear) is a best-seller in Finland. That's great, but it's not in stores anywhere else. Damn fine RPG/strategy game, set in the RuneQuest universe, and more non-linear than any comparable game I've tried.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I know what you mean, Brink. Many of those RTS games are just different wrappings around an identical core, lacking all originality and thought.
Planescape: Torment was an excellent game. I'm glad the same team is active, and working on Torn, a 3D RPG. What I've heard and seen of it sounds great.

BEST:
MechCommander - I loved every second of this game! Oh those grueling hours spent trying to target the ****pit of that Thor J just so I could salavage the damn thing!
Fallout 2 - Too much fun!
Command & Conquer - The fun that was spent playing multiplayer, the commando was too cool! "That was left handed" and those Orca's!!! LOVED THAT PUPPY!
Need For Speed Series - Still remember watching the video sequences for each car on the original. Some good ol fun!
Crusader: No Remorse & No Regret I got the orginal on Christmas day 1995. I was the happiest 15 year old in the world
Truly an amazing game that will always stay with me forever!
WORST
Worst game ever goes to Krush Kill & Destroy!!! Worst example of AI programming to ever exist! That was a shocking, shocking game. Had crap written ALL over it!
And any kind of Pokemon game... *shudder* Just horrible I say!
*gets a cross and holy water ready*

Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

I see very rarely mentions of Finland, not to mention somebody knowing anything about it but this is nice indeedSo is King of Dragon Pass, which (I hear) is a best-seller in Finland.
My best games:
Baldur's Gate-series
Wing Commander-series
Diablo-series
Need for Speed-series
Thief 1&2, Thief 2 was better though
worst:
hmm...nothing crosses my mind, it seems that I've missed all the crap games
Centuries ago in England........It was an era of chivalry and magic. The evil Prince John unleashed an iron fist of tyranny upon the people. They called out for a champion.........one man answered that call. His name, was Robin Hood. Fearless in his quest for justice Robin Hood challenged the power of the high warlords. While protecting the helpless and the poor. Willing to face death for what he believed, along with the beautiful, lady warrior, Jaheira, the mighty Minsc, and the wise Keldorn. Robin Hood forged a legend that lives on today in............
CRAP! Forgot to mention Baldur's Gate Series!!!
Considering I've spent so much time on it! Yep, BG and BG2 are possibly my all time favourites!

Ooo one of these threads. Incidently, I do AI for Total Annihilation - http://www.planetannihilation.com/aicentral/
. There's still a thriving community. TAK sucked
BEST:
Terra Nova: The first real game with jump packs, it also had some sweet squad ordering, which hadn't been seen in such detail before. Good plot, some suprise missions, damn good fun. Was a flop.
System Shock series: Featuring the best baddie of all time, Shodan. These games are scary, about as close as you're going to get to having RPG in a FPS currently (pah to Deus Ex). Amazing games.
Monkey Island 2, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Day of the Tentacle: The peak of Lucasarts point and click adventures, these are true classics. MI2 is funny, IJatFoA is deep, DotT is wacky.
Tribes series: Ultimate online game. A whole extra dimension to play with, with a great variety of ways to play. Working as a team is rewarded, and defence is actually fun! The original suffered from one man army syndrome.
Baldur's Gate II: By far the best RPG ever, great character interaction, a huge range of quests and characters that you can play.
Planescape Torment: Another great RPG, it's refreshing to be able to think your way through most of it, without lots and lots of fighting. Takes a little getting use to the new enviroment, this puts a lot of people off.
Shattered Steel: A mech game, but more in the arcarde vain than the sim. Big weapons, terrain which is modified by the damage it takes and large battles. This is a brilliant game, and started Bioware on the path to greatness
. Always wanted to play it coop. AI was dire
X-Com: Enemy Unknown: Called UFO Defence in the US. The best turn based squad game around. If you have a slow enough PC it's still great fun to play. The AI isn't bad, the game is well balanced, and the variety superb. If you're insane take on the sequel for better AI and more enviroments (and a difficulty curve like that of a cliff).
WORST
Tiberium Sun: Westwood proved, once and for all, that it was a one game company. It sold by the bucketload, loads of people hated it, then they still went and bought RA2. Boggles the mind.
Starcraft: Blizzard did a Westwood, they did Warcraft in space, but wait....it had 3 races! Ooooo. Vastly inferior in every way except missions, to TA, it of course sold on brand. If they ever do a SC2 it will also be a massive hit no doubt.
In 4 years RTS has gone no where.
Doom 2: A major let down. It was Doom...again...with one new weapon and a few new enemies. This is where ID started on their wretched two of each weapon system (Shotgun, Supershotgun, Nailgun, Supernailgun......)
Plumbers Don't Wear Ties: Recognised as being the worst game of all time. Game is really pushing it....
Myst: Started the wretched nice graphics, minimal gameplay, syndrome in the point and click genre.
Oh I'm sure there's more....
