Does anyone actually play paper based dungeons and dragons? What is it actually like? I haven't played but think I want to.
Can someone fill me in?

I nay be playin' it, but I know a lot o' folks that do.

I seen a party takin' on Tarrasque just yesterday. Big fight. Too bad they nay haved a Wish spell memorized.

It can be a lot of fun, if you have a good group of friends, an experienced DM, a sense of imagination and a willingness to cooperate.

I used to remember...

...being a first-level Paladin with very high AC and HP...

...my party meets "a goblin horde" of 30...

...those bozos need a natural 20 to hit me...

...I charged at them and it will just take me one round to reach them (9"movement)...

...goblin archers rained me with arrows, BAH!

...

...Murphy was smiling at me and he rained me with 20's

...

... I ended up with -8 hp...

...good thing I had lay on hands (+2hp) to give me those additional rounds till our cleric can return me to at least 1 hp...

...well at least I drew fire and gave my partymates some time for a counter attack...

i remember a newbie story that i went along with me(plain fighter dualing weapons(modified little bit)) and a friend with elven thief/mage... we followed some cultist into their lair and there was a corridor that was 1 and a half man wide, so it was one man at a time battle, and since they were so lousy and there were 30 of them, it took half an hour to kill them all... hehe the DM just held his palm open and we threw the die on it so it rolled on the box to see if they hitted(which they didn't) and finally my friend casted sleep, and the rest of them fell asleep, but i still had to hit them and i did miss sometimes... and when the big guy saw us, he decided to rush directly on me, i rolled a crit hit, and since he rushed the dam is x4 so he died in one swing(he missed) and that was the quest...
