MotB spell bug!? Can't add\change out spells

Post by angelique_sp »

I've never had to post to one of these forum boards before.....so just in case, pardon my forum etiquette.
I've just started MotB since finishing the main NWN2. I'm finding I can't add a spell to an empty spell slot. It won't take the icon and when I right click it shows the info for Acid Fog as if it was there in the slot. This goes for all my magic-using characters; I first noticed it when I gave Safiyeh a ring that adds more spell slots.....it wouldn't let me fill them. If I take out a previous spell to change it for a newly acquired spell, it, too, becomes an unusable blank space ('filled' with the invisible 'Acid Fog'). If I try to change all of them, I'll end up with no spells at all. :(
I could really use some help....starting to go 'mildly' insane. I dunno if its a bug, a bad install\patch,....or if I'm just being a newbie idiot.
Major Thanks to anybody who can toss me a hint or two as to the problem and what I need to do. ~Beaucoup appreciation~

Don't think I can answer your question, but I strongly advise you to remove your e-mail addi from the post!

Regardibg the question: do you have any unofficial Mods added to your game? Some of 'em can screw the game up quite a lot.

Is your video card up to scratch? I had odd things going on because (according to my computer fixer) my video card, whilst a good one, was lacking in sufficient memory. He added another GIG, and it has been fine ever since.
I have now shot my bolt, because, whilst willing to help, I am decidedly NOT a techi.

And that is the main reason I don't use mods either - I'd be bound to screw up. :(

I just got this same bug. The game seemed to start out this way after updating with all the official/automatic patches. Has a fix ever been found?
