Yeah, Bonds broke McGuire's home run record (the one that was supposed to last a lifetime), but I can't help but feel suspicious about the pitchers (and by implication, the umpires and managers) sportsmanship integrity. I think they served him homerun quality pitches on one silver platter after another in an attempt to get peoples minds off the what's going on in the world and back onto America's favorite past-time.

It worked.

Eliot's definetely right.
Bonds had it easy.

you could say he cheated, but the McGuire cheated because he used steroids.

okay, big mac didn't use steroids, he used androstenedione, which is perfectly legal and can be purchased at any nutritional store. andro is banned by some sports leagues, such as the olympics and a couple professional sports.
bonds too used similar supplements.
no one ever really thought macguire's record would hold for long at all. you have to realize that sosa has broken rodger marris's homerun record twice now. so the old 61 homer record has been broken 4 times, and it will keep gettign broken repeatedly for years to come. a lot of sports records are like that. a record will hold for quite a while, then training techniques and supplements get better and the old record will be shattered repeatedly till a new standard is set that will last for some time. and the cycle will go on.

the braves will win!!!!!

The braves??? Don't make me laugh.
Yankees will go all the way again!!!

Sosa should be the next guy to beat the record. He's got close twice.

At this rate in 20 years we'll have a guy hitting 100 homers in a season.

also contributing to the rise in homers is how spread out the pitching talent is. with every expansion team, pitching gets thinner and thinner...

Go Braves!...or Astros would be fine with me as well...
it is really amusing to me hwo the braves are the first team in history to win a division title yet have a losing record at home.

Sosa hit +60 three times i thought?

Bond's had it easy, but so did Big Mac, and so does Sosa. The pitching sucks now.

I knew the Yankees were going to go back to the World Series. The first game's tonight.
Schilling's pitching and he's really good. Then the big unit pitches in the next game. 2 of the league's best pitchers.
But the Yankees will win!!! :D

Yankees lost to Diamondbacks. Don't belive it. They must have underestimated arizona. They'll win today.

Can someone please explain the rules of baseball to me? I have no idea.
