Global News

Post by der Moench »

I surf for my news, and would be interested in hearing what news sites you all find worthwhile. Preferably English language, and preferably neither leftist nor rightist. I'm looking for a more international outlook in my news sources, so I thought I'd ask this global forum. Thanks!

If your definition of news is broad enough to include the way a culture views itself and its activities, consider the World Radio Network at http://www.wrn.org/ You can listen live, or visit their archives for the latest recordings by over twenty-five of the world's international broadcasters. They include China, Austria, Poland, Russia, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Australia, etc.

The Canadian Globe and Mail is a really great source for news around the world.

Thanks! Anyone else? I'm kinda curious about the British news sources - any Brits out there have a suggestion?

Well i usually use Sky they can be biased, but they are usually up to date.
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

IMO BBC has the best international news report. Not always the fastest, but the best and least biased in-depth articles and analysis.

Also try
http://www.worldnews.com/

where you can chose either by subject or by region. They have many links to national newsservice in countries outside Europe/US, which IMO is very important to reduce bias.

Good luck :)
