SoZ: Dilpomacy/Bluff/Taunt rolls invisible? No info on success or fail?

Post by Solusek »

Hey guys,

well, just look at the title. Just started Storm of Zehir and I was wondering... why don't I get to see any rolls on dialogue skills? I'm not even informed if it was a success or not, which is not as much of problem since it is quite obvious most of the times.

Am I bugged? Wrong configuration maybe? Or did the just change that part in SoZ?

So long,
Sol

I'm not certain. At least for dialogue I haven't been noticed a dialogue option as sort of a critical failure. In other words typical to NWN2 all dialogues lead down the same path it just means you see an extra text box if you have the dialogue options. I think you might be able to get some gold rewards though I am not sure? Which would be worth it in the beginning.

Bluff and Intimidate in overland map: I don't see a roll but you can see if it worked or not. The monsters have an animation around them and intimidate you also see some of them running away (if it worked).

Taunt: This works in combat almost normally. The DC is dependent on your ability and you will see combat rolls for the enemies to resist your taunt. The change is that even if they are charging at you with sword drawn or shooting you with arrows you cannot taunt them from range. It only works when you close with them from my experience. I am not sure if it draws AoO but it might be good to put the skill on a character with mobility skill or a high AC in general.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
