I'm playing single player and have a problem.
I'm trying to do the quest to save Lord Taverick... the walkthrough says that there is supposed to be a scream after fighting the 2 waves of demons, but There isn't one for me. I've replayed it 3 times and it still won't happen. Is there something that I'm doing wrong that the walkthrough isn't mentioning? I hope it's not a bug that I can't get through.
Did you save the game before entering the Tavorick estate?
I usually save the game a named save before I do something which I know is a segment of the story. That way when something does not trigger, I can start over from a previous point and try it again.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

I can't seem to find anymore of them. And I tried going upstairs to see if I just hadn't heard the scream and nothing happens. So it doesn't seem to be either of those things. So unless someone else has any other ideas, I'm stuck permanently. It's too far into it to want to start over. Is there a bug that causes it? Who would I be need to talk to if that were the case?
What happens when you talk to Lord Taverick? Does he say to escape through the basement? I thought the scream was when you go upstairs with Lord T and then you hear a scream? Anyhow see if you can advance the plot without the scream.

Lord T seems to be locked in his room and I can't get to him. I've never heard a scream before. I was just saying what the walkthrough on this site said was supposed to happen. I tried talking to the guards in front of his door too and nothing happened. I tried talking with everyone downstairs too. Still nothing. I was really liking the game too.
I think you can choose to stay with lord T if you want. You are given some options before the battle. I think you should go back to a previous save and try again.
