*Throws in that the Japanese one was censored, but is aish!teru*

If you really meant it a lot romantically, use "Koish!teru". I think it's Koi, anyway. :)

I think we all fully understand the principle of avoiding the censor to post a relevant comment. When someone avoids the filter to post something lewd or offensive to someone else, then there is a problem.

Does anyone need clarification on this issue?

Yeah, it is Koi, and I'm pretty sure, though not certain, that they would be written(romanized) as "Koi sh!teru" and "Ai sh!teru" rather than "Koish!teru" and "Aish!teru" though it may not matter.

Though, if you're not careful, someone might think you were saying "I carp you" when you say "Koi sh!teru." ;)

Indeed, it doesn't matter. :)

Koi sh!teru is more like "I'm in love (with him/her)" or "I fancy him/her", whereas Ai sh!teru is "I love you".

Mind you, almost no one in Japan ever says either of them, except in letters, novels, TVs and movies.

I did some checking with a friend who speaks French.

"adorer" is "to love" and "aimer" is "to like."

My friend says that "je t'aime' is often commonly used as a casual way of saying "I love you," which isn't surprising to me, since "like" is used in English in place of "love" sometimes as well.
