3:14

Post by Vehemence »

This is a little strange. Over the last year of my life, I have had a habbit of looking at a clock and the time appearing to be 3:14. First couple of times I thought this was shere coincidence, but lately I find myself checking the time and low and behold, it's 3:14.

Really strange. So I've asked myself the significance of this number.

A couple of things have sprung to my attention. First and most obviously, the natural mathematical Pi 3.14159265359 etc etc I know theres also some religious texts... Job 3:14 (I remember that one from Mission Impossible).

As to what these things are, I have no idea. I'm not religious so I haven't a clue what 3:14 is in the bible or anything else for that matter.

Anyone wants to comment on this is most welcome. Any avenues I haven't explored would be just as welcome.

Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

... with kings and counsellors of the earth who built themselves places now lying in ruins. Job 3:14

Yeah, I remember that too from Mission Impossible, and its still stuck in my head. The chapter and verse 3:14 is similar to another famous passage found in scripture: John 3:16, which is the gospel in a nutshell, "God so loved the world he gave his one and only Son, so that anyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." Souind familiar?

3 is also a special number in the Bible, as it represents the personhood of Trinity, the number of days Christ was dead in the tomb, and the three most important Christian virtues of faith, hope, and love. 14 is the product of two 7s, and 7 is a number that signifies completeness.

Other than this, I can't think of anything special about 3:14 other than the value of pi. But I hope it helps.

So perhaps on a subconscious level, I'm searching for faith, hope and love and overall, completeness?

Or perhaps the aquisition of faith, hope and love will bring about a sense of completeness?

Or perhaps eating a piece of pi will bring about a sense of completeness since I love pi, hope it's in the fridge and have faith that I have enough money to buy some more :)

Hmmm.. I think I'm even more perplexed than I was before  :D :p

What's that suppose to mean? That all Americans are paranoid freaks? Why would you say that? You’re working for them aren't you! Your insidious plan will never come to fruition! And tell your alien cohorts to bring back Elvis! The truth is out there!

:p ;) :D
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Maybe somebody is switching clocks on you, or changing it so that it's fixed at 3:14.

Maybe it doesn't mean anything, and it's coincindentel?

I hate to be morbid, but I had a friend who's father died. Every year on the anniversary of his death, the clocks would stop at 6:15, the time of his death.
spoooky.....
(or maybe she was lying to me and i was stupid enough to believe her - you pick)

It happened again!

This is starting to puzzle me.

Although I must say that I had a pie for lunch yesterday and felt quite satisfied later :)

Coincidence? Perhaps... logical? Hell no! :D
